Further to the announcements we wrote to you about yesterday there have now been changes to restrictions targeted at managing COVID-19 in both Queensland and South Australia.
Queensland
What is changing?
The following local government areas (LGAs) in Queensland will enter a 3 day lockdown from 6.00pm tonight:
- Noosa
- Sunshine Coast
- Ipswich
- Logan
- Redlands
- Moreton Bay
- Brisbane
- Gold Coast
- Scenic Rim
- Lockyer Valley
- Somerset
- Townsville City
- Palm Island Aboriginal Shire
These restrictions will be reviewed on Friday, 2 July 2021. More information can be found here on the Queensland Health COVID-19 website.
What does this mean for your services?
Five Good Friends' services are considered essential, visits can continue. Helpers who live and work in the above LGAs must follow scenario 2B in the Standard Operating Procedure including wearing a mask, gloves and apron for all visits.
South Australia
What is changing?
From 12.01am today the wearing of masks for care providers became mandatory. More information can be found here on the South Australia government COVID-19 website.
What does this mean for providing services?
Visits can continue. Helpers, Community Nurses, Nurse Concierges and Community Leads must follow scenario 2C in the Standard Operating Procedure including wearing a mask for all visits.

We continue to urge all Helpers and Five Good Friends team members to be vigilant in their management of COVID-19 and any symptoms. This includes cancelling visits if they have any concerns. If your Helper does need to cancel a visit at short notice we would be grateful for your understanding. We will work very hard to ensure your services continue with minimal disruption.
