International Nurses Day celebrates the contribution that nurses make to societies around the world. The date has a very strong significance, being the birthday of perhaps the world’s most trailblazing nurse, Florence Nightingale.
The theme for 2021 is Nurses: A Voice to Lead and A Vision for Future Healthcare.
With more than 450,000 nurses across Australia, more than ever nurses before play a central role in delivering health care.

We do home care differently – more control, empowering technology, more hours of care and exceptional service – and our nursing team have embraced the innovative approach and are critical helping us achieve our vision for care.
COVID-19 pandemic has shown the world the important role nurses play in keeping people healthy across the lifespan.
While there has been significant disruption to healthcare, Five Good Friends’ nursing team have been part of great innovation through our new services such as telehealth to ensure improved access to care.
Five Good Friends has an ever-growing team of reliable nurses in all of our communities providing clinical services.
Our nursing team is there to help manage skin conditions, wounds, catheter care and all general nursing requirements. Our nurses are available short-term following discharge from hospital or longer term to treat ongoing conditions.
For many of our members who live in our partner retirement villages, it is our Nurse Concierge’s who are their trusted adviser, becoming their first point of call.
At Five Good Friends our goal is to provide the best possible care for our Members and we do this with a great team of nurses who want to know about goals, health and wellbeing.
